I've been really nostalgic lately. I was back in my province, Balanga, for a week til yesterday and I was like, "Naaalala mo pa yung..." "Tapos yung..!" with my cousins when we were at lola's house.

The "____ loves _____" writings on the walls and cupboards of the tindahan, the games we used to play, and a whole lot more. I just want to be a kid again. No, not only that. I want to repeat everything again, actually.

It's just sad how you slowly realize that you're growing up so fast that all the lovely memories from the past are slowly becoming a bit blurred and hazy. I know I can't repeat everything all over again but I'd want to at least actually remember everything clearly; I'd want to look back whenever I please, and get to smile at that special memory.

It's sad. How I'm starting to realize that I'm growing up and, sooner or later, everything's going to just be a simple memory, a thing of the past. And that I can't re-live any of it, but just merely recall it. And my memory sucks balls :'|

I'm so screwed when it comes to maintaining blogs.

So, quick update!

I got posted into a JC last 27Jan and the lucky JC is..

*drumroll*

INNOVA!

I've actually been well aware of the reactions people get when they're asked which JC they're going to/in and they reply "Innova" even before getting into the said JC - the usual "Really? WHY?!?!" or "SERIOUSLY?!"

I guess it's because the cut-off grade, 20, is high; very high actually that it's already the mark which would determine if you'll be able to get into a JC or not. I'm guessing everyone's just looking at the school's cut-off point instead of its quality, considering that all the so-called "top" JC's have ~~inhumane~~ cut-off marks which actually reach ~~ZERO~~ 2.

But seriously. There's so much more to a school than its cut-off mark. Innova's got a cut-off mark of 20 but it's ranked 8th among 18 (?) Singapore JC's, hence it's actually much better than 10 other JC's with a lower cut-off point.

I'm not really bragging about my school lah.
Just want to clarify its standard. HOHOHO.

After 3 days of a (muscle)pain-inducing orientation (yes only 3 fvcking days HUHUHU but it's okay, it was awesome)
I've come to know more about IJ and, so far, I actually think that it's a pretty (pardon me for my limited vocabulary. OH THAT JUST REMINDED ME OF SOME HILARIOUS VID. WILL POST THE LINK LATERRR) awesome JC
and I'm actually happy and relieved that it's the one I've been posted to. Sure, there are the pros and cons; it's inevitable. But I think I'll be able to look past the latter and focus on the former sooner or later.

WARNING: RUN-ON SENTENCES MUCHH.

I remember one time when I was a young girl (lol duh) and I was with my mom in Makati and she was driving and I was like, "Mommy, can I send the president a letter?" and she answered me and went on about the whole process and stuff.

But I actually forgot why I actually (again) asked her that question until, like, moments ago. After blogging about my previous post, I remembered.
(dramatic italicized effect XD)

It was something about wanting to make the president do something about current issues, I suppose. But as I grew older, I got more knowledgeable about certain things like how the president's too busy (with official works and, you know, other things) to keep everything in order and so it's not really very wise to depend on the president and it's much wiser to let everything go and just be apathetic to whatever's happening to our society cos, let's face it, there's just so much I can do and not a lot of people care anyway so what's the point.

So (I think) I've lived years of indifference towards criminal activities and rotten politics. I'm not saying that I care a whole lot about these cos that would make me a hypocrite and that's not very nice. It's just that I'm really really really hoping that the authorities can actually do something about everything, with the Maguindanao massacre, the lost bullets during New Year's, all the road rage, holdap-an and what-not. Seriously, everything.

I guess that's where ~~religion~~ faith comes along. Knowing that there's this almighty God that will keep everything peaceful without you even needing to write Him a letter.

Men may fail and disappoint us but not God.

*tried real hard to find that Bible verse but ended up failing D: must be more familiar with my bible verses!*

It's just sad how people are given this chance to actually have the ability to do something about everything and yet, not that I'm blaming and condemning them, they still don't/can't/aren't able to do it. I completely understand how it's difficult and how there's so many other things to do and how there's so much damage control to be done and how the nation's salvation can so not be achieved in just a snap and etc.
But still. I had hopes.

So I actually understand the madlang people (yes, got it from Showtime!) out there who supports a political candidate all through-out the campaign then immediately condemns the said person when he gets the position yet forgets his campaign speech and fails to solve everyone's problems. I find the attitude rather irrational but I can't blame these people for believing in someone they thought was actually trust-worthy and giving him their votes so that he could one day make their lives better.
*I won't give examples. I hate giving examples :S*

I've got to stop here. I have so much going on in my mind right now like seriously I mean it. This post lacks so much organization and punctuation and it's full of run-on sentences but hey I'm just blogging (well, not just just blogging but just blogging I think you get it) and I'm getting off-track now so must stop.

You know that feeling when you're writing about something you~~'re so passionate feel~~ so much about and then you start tearing up. It happened. Hohoho.

Superklasse Wednesday

After four months of not going to a club (LITERALLY), I finally did to show some support for one of my best friends, Mel and to see friends who I haven’t seen for the longest longest longest time. It was the first time I’ve ever set foot in Encore (to think I used to go to Embassy every week). It felt surreal to be out and without my boyfriend, LJ, who couldn’t come due to an early class the following day.

I only had 4 drinks: 3 Amaretto Sours and a Mai Tai. It felt good seeing a lot of my friends. We took so many pictures that my fully charged camera went low bat. Anyway, Mel and I decided to leave Encore by 2:30 A.M. Our friends stayed behind since the club closes at 3 A.M. Mel and I were taking separate cabs since she goes home to Mandaluyong and I to Makati. I WAS COMPLETELY SOBER. Not even a bit tipsy.

I remember telling her as we were leaving the club “It’s my first time going home in a cab alone from this club.” Mel was a bit concerned, even offering me to stay over her place for the night.. I told her not to worry, I ALWAYS get home safely.

So we went to get our cabs and I made sure Mel got into her cab first. Then I was looking for a cab who wouldn’t fix the price (you know how it is at The Fort) and there was one who volunteered that he’d use the meter. So I took his offer. I distinctly remember most of the waiting cabs were DAVIS cabs. Mine was not. And I was so damn stupid not to get his taxi’s name and plate number.

In the middle of the ride, I started changing into regular shorts and top. The driver wasn’t looking though but suddenly his hand reached for behind and I was surprised. He was saying, “MAY NAHULOG. Wallet mo ata.” I found a 50 peso bill on the floor. Then he said, “Ang dami mo sigurong pera. Mayaman ka noh?” I didn’t answer. I started getting nervous. I started looking for the cab’s number (which is usually written on the side of the doors). There were faint markings but it couldn’t be understood. The driver noticed my agitation and said, “Anong hinahanap mo? Plate number? Bigay ko sayo.” I was like, “Never mind.” I did NOT want him to know I was getting nervous already. Plus we were so near my house. I thought, what could go wrong?

But something did. Three streets away from my house, the cab driver “hit” a pothole or hump or whatever. He pulled over to the side and said, “Tangina, pano na yan? Na-lock yung steering wheel. Hindi ko maikot.” I was just looking at him, confused. I have no knowledge of cars so I do not know if he was bluffing or not. The meter was 75. I gave him a hundred. He had no change daw so I was like, “Fine, whatever. There’s nothing I can do about it.” I stepped out of the cab, in the middle of Bautista Street, a long street but near my house. It was almost 3 A.M. When I looked back, the cab was gone.

HOW IN THE WORLD WAS HE ABLE TO DRIVE AWAY IF HIS STEERING WHEEL WAS “LOCKED”?

I called my boyfriend up AND THANK GOD HE ANSWERED HIS PHONE. He was sleeping already, good thing the call woke him up. I was trying to remain calm. I told him my dilemma. Suddenly an empty cab drove by. A DIFFERENT ONE. I hailed it. I had probably less than half a kilometer to my house which was three streets away. The cab took me in and I ended the call.

Two more lefts, it was my house already. It was Camalig Street, then Bigasan Street. Suddenly the driver went left, the street just right before my house, Camalig. I said very politely, “Kuya, MALI. Atras ka, atras ka. Sa kabilang street pa. One more left.” The driver just kept driving like he didn’t hear. I said it again. Then he stopped and looked at me. Then he said, “Bayaran mo na.” I was weirded out. I was like, “Why? This is not even my house. It’s on the next street.” Besides, we haven’t traveled far. The meter was still at 30 pesos.

SUDDENLY, without warning, the driver grabbed my neck and jumped to the back. My first thought was, “ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?!?!?”. But his grip was getting tighter and tighter. I literally couldn’t breathe and felt my consciousness slipping. As we were struggling, I kept scratching at his eyes and reaching for the lock of the left door. He was on top of me hitting my head repeatedly while his other hand around my neck. I was choking and choking when I realized the left side HAD NO FUCKING LOCK, which means I couldn’t get out. Which means I had to try my luck on the right side. Imagine my struggle to get to the other side as a full grown, heavyset man kept bashing my head, scratching my face, pulling my hair and hitting me. I kept scratching his eyes. It was all I could do. When his grip loosened a bit, I managed to open the right door with so much effort. Unfortunately he pulled me back with my hair. Imagine MY TERROR as the door closed again!!!!! I couldn’t scream anymore. Besides, who would hear me I was inside a fucking car. My neck was so sore and I was close to fainting. I kept scratching his eyes and reaching for the door until by some miracle, I opened it fully and screamed with what was remaining of my voice.

The driver said something like, “Tangina, it’s not worth it.” And literally kicked me out of the car. I rolled out onto the street with my shoulder bag which was slung around me the whole time with its remaining contents. The driver suddenly sped away. Till now, I don’t know his motive, whether it be rape or hold up. Or both. Or murder.

So there I was in the middle of the street, barefoot. Then I realized why the hell am I so wet?! I realized I was sitting in a pool of my own blood. There was so much blood dripping from the right side of my head, it was like a half-closed faucet if you get what I mean. I started screaming for help.

This time the apartment I was right in front of lights’ went on. Imagine the horror on these people’s faces as I literally crawled towards them bloodied and barefoot. When I reached out to them for help, I saw my arm. It was covered in blood. And I could feel that I was losing so much more. I asked for a cellphone. I still had the consciousness to call my boyfriend. The people who took me in were nice enough to let me call. They talked to LJ and informed him of what happened. They even cleaned me up. Suddenly there was the barangay people and witnesses. That’s when everything became hazy. The barangay people said that they had to take me to the hospital because I was losing so much blood.

I was taken to Makati Medical Center ER. I still remember as I was being loaded onto the wheelchair the horrified looks of the people outside the hospital. I even had a high school batchmate who was assigned as my nurse, Erika Bautista (THANK YOU SO MUCH). In her own words she said that when I came in I looked like I was already in critical condition. I am not exaggerating when I say this: I WAS LITERALLY COVERED IN BLOOD. Head to foot.

Everything was in a daze after that. All I remember was the blood. Under my nails, on my face, on my hair, on my neck, my chest, my legs, my toes. Even my armpits had blood. Truly, I have never seen so much in my whole life. My face started bruising up so much I could see my right cheek even if I look straight ahead. I also had so much hair falling out because the guy kept on pulling it. But what bothered me was the blood that kept dripping continuously from the right side of my head… and the pain. The doctor said the cut was so deep it LOOKS LIKE I WAS STABBED. It was really bad. I wouldn’t stop crying. I hate the sight of blood and here I am, a walking bloody blob. My first medical gown was drenched in blood. So they had to change it. I changed my medical gown four times before I was discharged. That’s how bad the bleeding was.

When LJ arrived the hospital, I forced myself to be cheerful. I smiled and said “HAPPY MONTHSARY!” It was our 2nd monthsary. Geez what a way to spend it. Till now this hurts me, thinking how ironic the situation is. He said the wounds on my head were like the claw marks in the Jurassic Park movie logo. B, no words can express what I feel towards the situation and how grateful I am that you were there. Basta alam mo na yun.

Anyway, after a few hours, I got a CT scan to detect hemorrhages and X-Rays. Good thing it all came out negative. But I had so many wounds and lacerations on my head. They had to STITCH THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY TEMPLE AND ANOTHER ONE AT THE BACK OF MY HEAD. But there are still minor wounds all over my head, even the inside of my ear has blood till now. Till now my hair is all stiff and sticky from the blood. They shampooed my hair in the hospital but a lot of it still haven’t come out. (I woke up today with dried blood on my pillow).

The first time I saw a mirror, I could not believe my eyes. I thought it was just dirt and dried blood but then I realized I had a giant bruise on my right cheek and deep scratches on my face. I got a Wet One but it just won’t come off. I had to face it, my face was really fucked up. My neck had strangle marks, my jaw was swollen, I had two semi-black eyes, my cheeks were patches of black and blue and the abrasions and cuts were deep on my face. I look like the Bride of Chuckie.

After they sutured me, I became delirious for sometime. Not knowing what I was saying to LJ but he said I was acting strange and started rambling about random things that I don’t remember.

The police came and they got the license plate of the cab DAW from the witnesses but they weren’t sure if it’s accurate. We’re still planning an investigation. I lost my school ID, cellphone, cash and camera. The only things that I salvaged from the incident were my shoes, a brush and a dress. They were covered in blood as well. Now, the question is, are the first and second cab incidents related? Is it a Modus Operandi?

Anyway, I’m out of the hospital now. My body is aching all over and my face looks like Pacquiao practiced on it.

The reason why I am writing this note is TO WARN EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU PEOPLE TO BE CAREFUL. I never ever thought such a thing could happen to me. I thought it only happens in the movies. Imagine, I was just a street away from my home and THIS HAPPENED. A STREET AWAY. Thank God I wasn’t drunk, Thank God the guy did not have weapons (I think), Thank God some kind souls helped me. Thank God I had the presence of mind not to remove his hands from my neck but to scratch his eyes out and reach for the lock. Some girls initial defense would be to un-strangle themselves but I didn’t. I let him strangle me. My main objective was to get the damn door open and escape.

The doctor told my boyfriend I was lucky to be alive, before leaving the hospital. As I was struggling inside the taxi, I did not see the whole “your life flashes before you when you’re dying” thingy.

NO. That’s why I fought against him as much as I could. I told myself over and over again, “NOT TODAY… NOT TODAY… This isn’t how I should die. I’m too good for this.”

I SAW the reason why I should keep on living. That’s why I’m still here today.

So, yeah. I thought it was just diarrhea BUT NO.
Got myself checked a while ago and they found an infection in my system.
Turned out to be quite a quantity of amoeba moving about my gastric system (or I think only my stomach)
AJUJUJU. The thought is disgusting and it feels damn bad D: D: D:

I CRIED OKAY!
Okay yeah I do cry alot even when I just watch dramas but I don't normally cry when something's painful. I had 2 teeth extracted before at the same time and it didn't bother me at all. BUT THIS DID (and still is.. bothering me HAH)

What's even more sad is that it's the season for festivities and gatherings which means FOOD FOOD FOOD FOOD and I won't be able to pig out as much as I want cos I'd barf and barf and barf and poop and poop and poop and have a terribleeee (take my word for it) stomach ache D:

Such a sad sad sad unfair life :(

But, yes, I am faithful and I stay faithful and I'll stay faithful.
God will get me through this :)

So, before blabbering about our delightful time in the airport, I'll talk about prom.

MY FEET DIED. Stupid peep-toes (though they WERE really really cute)

Prom was fun. If it was more or less fun than expected, I can't really tell. It was fun, that's about it. I guess cos I've been thinking of our airport escapade afterwards the whole time.

SO, NOW. AIRPORT <3

I love the airport. Love how it makes me feel. It makes me feel happy. Cos I know that I'm going to be with someone I love whenever I go there. Either I'm going home or I'm fetching someone who's visiting me. I like it. I like the feeling.

So, PIJA (Pat, Ivana, Jesslyn, Ankeeta) plus Cindy and Kikita and Vanchi went to the airport after prom. But not really directly after prom. We went back first to revive our dead feet. Freshened up and finished packing. So we were done around 1am? Then off we went.

Had a meal at McD @ T3. Then stayed on the seats beside it to nap. Everyone slept and, as usual, I camwhored. Photos are with Vanchi, in her sexy professional DSLR. Oh, we watched Paranormal Activity first but we all got bored and I guess we were all so tired so, yeah.

Woke up everyone around 5:30 for Buni, Wongso and CePe to check in cos their flight's at 7. We went back to T2 and stayed at Starbucks. My sayangs stayed with us for a while in Starbucks after checking in but left after some time. So there were goodbye hugs and b-byes. I hate saying goodbye.

Watched Glee with Ankee while Vanchi and Kikita were sleeping then took a nap when Ankee's laptop died. So basically that was the only nap I had so far. My sleeping habits and body clock are now totally screwed up.

Went to check in with Nica around 8 something. Had problems checking in cos I didn't have my dad's credit card and passport photocopies. The check-in guy said, "Okay then, fly tomorrow." Turned out to be a joke but it was so not joke-ish when he said it. Must learn how to deliver punchlines, can? But everything was fine soon after cos the man in charge solved the problem. Thanks, man-in-charge.

I've been home for more than 12 hours and I still have some habits I got from living in Oldham. Like, I push my bathroom faucet when it's supposed to be twisted and turned.

I got home late last night 'cause my parents took me and my brothers straight to Duty Free from the airport 'cause ~~they're~~ we're going shopping. So I got back late last night, had a quick tour thanks to Sam (cos our house got, like, renovated and so almost everything's new to me)

I cleaned and tidied up my room once I got in. I wiped my desk and close like crazy. Again, something I got from Oldham Hall because of all those quarterly Spring Cleaning and my once in a blue moon personal cleaning. But, wag ka, when I actually clean my room (though it's not very often...) I do CLEAN it. Like, CLEAN CLEAN it. Like, scrub scrub wipe wipe disinfect with alcohol CLEAN. HOHOHOHO.

I cried during take-off yesterday. I guess I was just overwhelmed.

I was sad; I'm starting to miss my friends and I'm sad that I'm not going to see them for almost 2 months and I'll really miss them alot cos I've been so used to those suckers.

I was happy; I'm so excited to go home after having been away for almost a year.

I was pissed; it's been a really rough week with all the time pressure on packing and doing last-minute things and I had a problem checking in because I didn't have the photocopy of my dad's credit card and I thought I'd be late for my flight cos I was still outside the gate when I heard the PA say "Last call for flight PR502".

I was grateful; cos in the end, God made a way when there seemed to be no way. He was there with me in everything. He got rid of my internal turmoils and all the stress and pressure.

He was with me. He'll forever be with me and knowing that made me grateful and happy, and at the same time disappointed with myself for not giving Him my full trust, for worrying about every problem that I've been through this past week.

My God's mighty to save. I'm home now :)

All that will be left is a stack of empty files - once stuffed with notes and test papers.

The last horrid paper's over. All that's left for me, given the blessing of a subject combi I have, are two MCQ papers on Thursday and Friday. That gives me 2 days to revise. Oh-suhmmm.

Weeks before O's were horrible. Quite. Thoughts of the papers kept me awake at night and woke me up in the morning. Seems like those lame parts in movies, right? But, seriously, it really happened to me.

I was scared. And if you know me well enough, it's really unusual. I was scared of the exams. I was scared of not getting the grades I went to get into the JC I want to go to; afraid that I won't be able to get into the JC I wanted to get into with my friends. Afraid that I'll end up in a different JC alone. Afraid that I won't make any new friends and I'll spend my whole 2 years in JC sad and lonely. Afraid that I won't be able to cope with the pressure, with the lifestyle. Afraid of every possible thing to be afraid of. And I don't know why.

I guess I'm just not ready to let go of my life now. SC. Oldham. My roommates. My friends. The people surrounding me; the familiar faces I see everyday. I'm scared of losing everything. Scared of starting new. I'm scared of the change that I know would be inevitable once I come back next year after the hols. I'm really really really scared. Really scared. And it's eating me up.

I can't let go. Pathetic as it may sound, I just can't imagine myself living away from everyone. I've gotten used to everything here already that I can't imagine living anywhere else with any other people. (I mean except for home cos you know, home is where the heart is. Lols. Now back to being emo!) I don't know if I'll be able to have the same relationship with the new group of people that I'm going to meet next year. Don't know if my roommates next year will ever be as bonded and as comfortable with each other as how my roommates are now. I don't know if I'll be able to make any new friends in my new school and if I'll be able to fit in. I'm scared, dammit, and it's so not healthy for my self-confidence.

I know I won't be able to keep things as they are and that we all need to move on to progress in life and that change is an inevitable thing and yadda yadda yadda. After almost 2 months of blogging hiatus (kind of), I'm finally back!XD

Yay yay yay! So why was I gone for quite a long time anyway? I was focusing on my O's, revising and studying very hard (quite.. not very.. but quite. heh) and so yes I left without a warning. But who cares anyway, right?
Not like anyone's interested in what I have to say all the time. Heh. *emode, emode*

So, there's been loads of things that's come up lately. Quite.

For starters, I lost my wallet just minutes before our school's Olevel briefing. Gahr. And all my cards were in there. Plus that letter, that uber short note that I've been keeping in my wallet for more than two years now. HOHHHH DDD: *sigh* Well, I've moved on. I'm all better now. Good thing all my photos aren't in there anymore.. I think. Hohhhh DDD:

There's the big O's monsters. I'll show you a proof once O's is over!!
It's really really freaky. Well, not really. Quite lah, but nah. Hoho. I used lah.

The first week went by so fast - first day was English and the rest of the days were Maths papers.
IT'S OVERRRR!!
I guess they made it that way to make us suffer more for the second week, which is this past week (which is, moreover, finally done!!!).
It was SS + Chem on day 1, Geog on day 3 (pity the Geog+Physics people :S) and finally Lit and Bio today (which was this afternoon so it's over now!!!)

I refuse to elaborate on the exams here on my blog - to rant about the stupid mistakes I think I've done, the things I wished I did and whatnot. I believe that whining about the exams when it's over is actually a waste of time cos, really, no matter how much you whine and grumble and complain about it, there's nothing you can do anymore. What you wrote on the papers won't change anymore; that's that and you can't do anything about it.

The best thing you can do is just to move on and take the remaining exams, rejoice during the holidays and come back all set to face your exam results with courage and an open mind.

If it's good, then well done; you've made all your mugging worth it.
If it's not as good as you hoped for, then perhaps it's just really what you deserved as, well, what you reap is what you sow right? You'd just have to accept it and do well in JC :)

No point crying over it - well maybe a bit cos I know all of us worked so hard for this and I would understand a tinge bit of disappointment over results which wouldn't meet our own personal standards (take note, personal standards. It's all about what you think.) Oh goodness, I'm being so naggy now. Heh.

It's really very serious.
It never flooded in our place, ever. Even before when it rained for 3 days, non-stop. But now, it did. And the water even got inside our house which is at least a meter above the ground.

So let's all pray for them.
and help those people in need by donating basic necessities.

I really like getting notes. I like getting letters. They make me feel nice and special and loved especially when the message is touching (though it might sometimes be insulting at the same time)

It's also SNSD's HyoYeon's birthday today. Read about her fans putting up some large party for her on a Kpop blog. It would be really nice, being a celebrity like that. Your fangirls all over the world would be celebrating your birthday with you.
But then again, even if I'm not a famous Kpop star, I still have awesome friends who made sure that I had an awesome birthday. And I love them all for that. Aaaw.

I've been fangirling alot again lately.

Watched Hannah Montana the movie and Made of Honor consecutively two nights ago. Then I watched The Holiday the following morning.

aaaaah8D the dimples, the dimples!

Liked Lucas Till alot cos of his, quoting RC, "all-American boy charm" though Ankeeta and Asri might not completely agree since they believe that his face is not in proportion. But he's really very cute and charming. He makes the really cheesy nauseating lines seem sweet. Well, not really. Let's just say that it's easier to tolerate those corny lines because he's saying it; you can just get lost in his nice blue eyes and not care about the movie anymore. No wonder even Mrs. Logan found him cute XD

he's so dreamyyy. but yeah, he's old. still dreamy anyway XD

Fell in love with Patrick Dempsey. I've never watched Grey's Anatomy or any of his other tv shows or movies so I really knew nothing about him aside from the obvious fact that he's good-looking. So I watched Made of Honor and I loved him cos he's really cute and charming and his lines were funny and witty and he gave justice to his character and he's just so.. dreamy ^^ Even though his voice isn't manly low XD

And then came Jude Law. I've always liked Jude Law. He's hot, that's why. So I guess there's not much I can say about him.

Anyway, yes. He's cute. And he's funny. I didn't really like him before. The first time Kikita showed me his photos, I found him cute. But after watching his videos and seeing how funny and dorky he is.. :D

I guess it's just really more convenient to fangirl.
The guy's not real - well he is but there's not a high possibility that you're ever going to meet him - so there's no chance of getting hurt. There's a sense of security that no matter how much you hyperventilate over the person, there's nothing you can lose and there's no way you can get hurt. Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.
It's like having a Furby instead of a pet dog.
The Furby's way cuter though it doesn't really breathe and it can't really interact with you like a real pet can. But it won't die. And you won't ever cry over it cos it won't ever die. Sure, it can run out of battery. Your younger brother might smash it into pieces. But there really won't be any connection between the two of you and you can't love it the way you can love a real dog so you won't get attached to it too much and there wouldn't be any pain inflicted by its loss.

Hardcore mugging should have supposedly started last week.
It's been a week since last week but all the mugging I've done so far was answering a few revision papers.. and that's it.

The thing is, for me, the enthusiasm to study is only a spur of the moment thing.
One minute, I'm planning on starting mugging non-stop and I'm actually seeing myself working hard. But after a while, I go back to my usual slacker self and, well, slack off.

Mugging is just not my thing.
Studying IS my thing. But studying isn't enough.
Yes, there's a difference.

I was gonna say something about examinations back home and here and how studying is so much more important than mugging but I thought of something and figured it's best to just not.

I guess a high standard of education simply requires a high level of examinations.
And in this world wherein change is inevitable and you'd just have to bloody deal with it, there's nothing much you can do but eat whatever is served to you on the platter.
I actually used bloody and I'm talking of about food again.

So I've been gone for a while.

I never cared if I screwed up. I never bothered about my tests.
But, honestly, I'm feeling the pressure now.
The creeping pressure.
Guess it's been there all this while. I was just either oblivious or unyielding.
I guess it's the latter.
And it's really difficult.
I've always thought that those pressurizing speeches disguised as pep talks would never move me.
But I guess I was wrong.

It might be the wake up call I've been praying for.
I've always thought I needed help. Perhaps someone or something to make me work harder.
Help came and I felt I was getting there.
But my attempts remain futile.
I guess it's never been enough.

Just like how you wonder why you can't ever make the basketball go into the hoop
when you're not even exerting enough force to get it in.
I suck at analogies.

So, yesterday. 08 August 2009.

Jenny tortured me in the morning. We went jogging to Novena and back.
I jogged better than before so I'm actually happy about that.
But I guess my legs and feet would beg to differ.

I had some hours of rest, around 3 or so.
Then I was off to NUS with Anna, ate Candice, Hannah, Kat and RC for the Seniors' Farewell organized by our juniors, Batch 10!:D
So we had the usual, though not very usual, games and we ate and we camwhored.
Laughtrip to the max all thanks to all the awesome Pinoy iskolars. HAHA.
Btw. Batch 9 would have so won the trip to Jerusalem game if not only just because.. well, uhm.. just because.
Batch9 rocks. Cos love matters!<3
HAHAHAHA!XD

It ended at around 5. Went back to the hostel for the inter-house pirate-themed Night Race.
I thought conquering the 7 seas is no biggie but, yeah, I was wrong.
All the running, games and post-event thingimajigs may have seemed like all fun last night but not this morning (and until now, apparently. I moved a bit to lie on my bed and my back and everything else hurt) I'm not exaggerating, really. It's worse than NAPFA.

With a night event comes lightsticks and I got 2 last night.
I gave up one, though. We placed it in a lamp in one station. The pirate in charge said we'd get extra points. But we didn't. Another pirate in charge said that if we'd laugh at his joke, he'll give us extra points. We laughed damn hard. But we didn't get extra points.
I felt so cheated..
HAHA.
The Quidditch match was a bit disappointing too. Ask Neha; she'll know.
She was furious last night. But it was for the house anyway so I guess it's not a bad thing; her being mad, I mean. lolXD

Losing is okay and acceptable but losing with apparent injustice and bias imposed by (those who must not be mentioned) is downright frustrating.
Sorry, but it is. Well, I guess it's just me. Don't get me wrong, though. I'm not blaming anyone. I'm just saying what I felt. I'm already over it. Heh.

Anyway, back to the light sticks. So I had one left. And then Emma gave me another one since she had like 4 on each wrist. But then I just realized last night when I got back to my room that I only had one left D: I lost the one Emma gave me T.T
But, well, I still have one left to add into my light stick cup :)
In the end, the light stick continues to light on pretty-ly :)
And that makes me happy:)

I love how it awesomely exudes its neon-ity (sorry for the made up words HAHA)
when it's dark.
Too bad it doesn't last very long.

So we were the 2nd or 3rd house to get back to the dining hall first. But in the end I think we got 5th place. Still happy anyway. I don't mind the not being on top part (also since I really think we would've won more games if everything was fair *gets slapped*)
What's important for me is, though it would be extremely cliche and shit, having fun with my house on the last house event of the year.

I'll miss Green House terribly.
But we shall not fret cos we'll be having loads more unnecessary house meetings with muffins provided by Ms. Susan and donuts by Ms. Siew Geok!
And we haven't had our Wii activity from Mr. Herwin, right? HAHA.

and then we danced to Nobody during the post-event dance last night.

So yesterday's been really tiring and GAHHH.

So it's been tiring and really unglam but, hey, it will pass.
My body would soon stop aching and I'd get my voice back and my hair's all good now after showering last night (oh, yeah, my body too. washed off of all the sweat and grime8D)
But in the end, what's important is, and it would sound very cliche and cheesy again, the fun we had and the memories we had together that we'll treasure forever (and it rhymesXD)

I've been quite irritable these past days, if not these past weeks or maybe these past months or at least ever since I've been aware that I've been. There's just things that get on my nerve, and some of these things I've finally noticed this past week. I mean no offense to anyone who'd actually feel offended; I'm simply sharing my opinion - cos that's what blogs are for, yes? And this is my blog.

Here they are, randomly listed.

1. BUSY, DND PLUS "don't even dare bother me lest you'll taste death"-kind-of-threats STATS.
If you're really THAT busy, then what's the point of going online? If you don't want to be bothered THAT much, then why not just sign out or at least go invi? Really, what's the point?

2. WHAT'S THE POINT OF WEARING A HEADBAND?
The second one gets me asking "What's the point?" too. I don't get it why people wear headbands yet they let their hair cover ~~the whole~~ okay I'm exaggerating half of their face. Really, what's the point of wearing a headband? Fine, I've done that but, hellooo, I was just camwhoring then. And I actually pushed back the rest of my hair and only left my fringe. When people do it that way then it's acceptable, IMO. But wearing your headband in a way that defeats its purpose? It would surely be embarassing when someone tells you "You don't know how to wear a headband, don't you?" in front of a number of people. Well, I guess you really don't anyway.

3. LOLing ALONE, LOUDLY. AND TOO MUCH.
It's just.. scary. I LOL alone when I'm watching my much-loved funny SuJu videos but I only laugh real loud when it's really really funny. But when you laugh THAT loud when you're alone and you laugh almost every minute, it actually gets irritating. Sorry, but it does. It's understandable when you're LOLing with people but when you're alone.. Well, try and catch my drift.

4. PEOPLE WHO CUT IN, ONLY TO SAY STUPID IRRELEVANT THINGS.
You'd know when it actually makes sense and when it doesn't. You know when it's actually necessary and when the person's just trying to get everyone's attention. Really, there are such people. And they just make me raise my left eyebrow. It might be funny at first sometimes but it get's annoying, trust me. So stop it, please. *insert smiley face here*

I don't actually hate the people who do these things. It's just what they do that irritates me.
What I've said is just my opinion. You have yours, I have mine. Respect mine and I'll respect yours.
But of course it would be so awesome if we'd actually agree on some things;-) HAHAHAHA. BI.

Just for the record, I'm not being bitchy here.
And I'm not trying to point out anyone in particular.

I'm addicted to Sorry Sorry and I'm currently attempting to learn the whole dance. Got some parts already. Eunhyuk's part is really difficult. Really. Duh.

I love all the members.

Especially, of course, my Lee Donghae.
He's just so good in both singing and dancing. Not to mention being goodlooking. Complete package, yes?<3

Then there's Eeteuk. The uber cute and funny leader who's so adorable even when he's being so conceited. Love his crazy antics and his so kawaii face. Angel Teukie~ XD

Third in my list is Eunhyukie~ I love love love him when he dances. But, so as to not get murdered by Camille and/or Kristen, I don't like him as much as Camille and Kristen do;) He's just really good at dancing. Love love love. And and he's so funny! I can't recall everything that happened and what we did the whole time we were there [aside from the vividly traumatizing "cycling" around the trail which was some approximately 10 metres (I'm not really sure, though. But it was damn high, I tell you.)] above the ground.

Hence, the sleeveless empresscut-ish top which I got as a gift from Mara and Bert 2 Christmases ago. I also borrowed Joceline's purple cardigan as I was feeling a bit exposed. Hahaha.
So we boarded the bus at around Iforgot pm and arrived at ACSI at around Ican'tremember pm.

So it's Chinese New Year tomorrow.
And we don't have school up until Wednesday.
'Cause we have two days of CNY holiday (Monday+Tuesday) and one day off from school because of our seniors' Olevel resultsXD Thank you!!!XD

Anyway, as I have said earlier, it's Chinese New Year tomorrow.
I actually find it cool that I get to enjoy this holiday even if I'm not Chinese. 'Cause, in the Philippines, we still have school on Chinese New Year; we don't really consider it as a holiday prolly 'cause we're not Chinese. U-huh, that explained a lot.

Hm. Hm. We had our annual Pinoy Games day yesterday. It's our batch's (batch 9! LBM<3) second Pinoy Games - the first was last year in Sentosa, organised by batch 7. This year's was organised by batch 8 and we had it at the Singapore Botanic Garden. I had loads of fun all thanks to batch 8, who made everything possible (YESSSSXD), and, of course, everyone else who attended and who made the whole event fun and entertaining:D

Uhm. Uhm. We were divided into groups of 5 and 6 (all hail, Green Leaflets! We're not the ultimate losers!!!XD) and then we played lots of games (as a group, yesxO) Uh, first we played the plastic-bag-blowing-and-popping game wherein some members of the group blew and 'protected' (in their own special ways..xD) the plastic bags while some popped the blown plastic bags of the other teams. Guess what? We were able to save 3 plastic bags!!!:D Others were able to keep 16, 21 and I'm not sure about the other team but they can't possibly get lower than us. HAHA.

After that, we made paper planes and we competed on which team can make their planes fly the farthest. And we won 2nd place!! HAAAAAHAAAHAA!XD Next, we played a more life-threatening version of 'three-legged race'. 5/6 people. 4 legs. 5 hands. Catch the drift. HAHA. Bottomline, we were forced to do cartwheels (well, at least one member of each group). No one had any serious injuries, though. YayXD

Hm. Finally, I think, we had the 'obstacle course' (dunno what to call it, saaahryxO). First, we needed to solve three 9x9 Sudoku puzzles in order to move on to the next round (after some time, they've decided to lower it down to 2solved puzzle and eventually to 1). I seriously can't solve Sudoku puzzles. I can only finish the 4x4 one (and yes, there's a 4x4 Sudoku). I'm actually proud of the progress Charmaine and I made, though, with the piece we got ('cause there was 6 of us in a group and 2 members get one puzzle to work on together and they made us two solve a puzzle together. oh, yeah, we are both Sudoku illiteratesXD) Finally, only one group was able to finish their Sudoke puzzle so the nice people that is batch 8 just allowed us to move on even if we're still struggling with ours. The next station was the various-sauce-eating/drinking station. We ate/drank our sauces one by one. When I was still waiting for my turn, I kept on hoping in my mind that mine would not be chili or wasabi or any spicy sauce for that matter because I have very low spiciness tolerance. Well, I do eat mildly spicy laksa and curry for roti prata but those are nothing compared to chili and wasabi of course. Sooo... to my great surprise, I got a greenish-yellow gel-ish sauce. I licked, kept it on my tongue and after a few seconds, on my way back to my team, I felt the burn. It freakin' hurt, srsly. The wasabi essence was diffusing out of my nose. It was excruciatingly painful (well, I might be exxagerating). Good thing Georgine and Hannah were there to ease my pain. LOL!!XD Love you, lezzies!:)

Oh, I think we had the newspaper dance after that game. And then we had Bring Me after. Haha! And I think Bring Me was the last game:D

So, they announced the winner and good heavens, we weren't the ultimate loser! We actually won 3rd place!!! Wuhoo!! Oh, yeah, there were 4 groups:D HAHA. After announcing the rankings and points, we went on to the bidding of prizes. The prizes were named after the parts of a flower - think stamen, pistil, ovule, pollen, etc. Our team bidded the highest and eventually got the last item, ovule - the other teams took two prizes each. HAHAHA. Anyway, it was okay.
Haha. It was entertaining.
I had fun, a lot. :D

It's our batch's turn next year! In addition to Hannah's proposition to go to Malaysia, I say we play board games in Malaysia! HAHAHAHAHA.

This season's been messing up with my emotions. Or, at least, this day.
I pathetically cried a couple of times today.

Like, there's no real reason.
There's just this certain wtimulus which triggered my eyeballs to sweat.
I know, right?

I don't really know everything or much about it but I know it involves mood disorders.

WHEN THE CLOCK STRIKES 12.

It's the 24th of December, lovers&friends-who'd-soon-to-be-my-lovers-too!
I don't know about you but, ~~about~~ for me, I'm looking forward for the 24th more than I do for the 25th.
I think because I enjoy all the preparations -- well, last-minute ones, at least -- more than I enjoy the actual party.

Especially when I was young and we're in the province and my cousins and I would be playing all day while our grandma and moms and aunts would cook and prepare the dishes that we're going to eat for Noche Buena. Then, when it's around 8 at night, all of us, kids, will sleep and the older people (NYAHAHA) will just wake us up few minutes before 12am. Then, after eating, we'd all gather around the Christmas tree and one member of the family will grab the presents and read the cards and have them passed around to those people to whom it's addressed to. And we'll delight in our presents until we grow tired and sleep again. Christmas has always been like that to me when I was little. We'd always travel to our province at least a day before Christmas. But when I got past Grade3, If I remember correctly, we don't always spend Christmas in the province anymore. Nonetheless, Christmas remains to be one of the days of the year that I always look forward to.

As years passed by, the childish ecstasy once prominent with every thought of Christmas day has slowly faded away. The red decorated Christmas socks hung up for Santa to fill in with gifts had been replaced with more practical and simple wish lists given to parents to see and fulfill. There are people who would rather sleep off the whole thing without even greeting the people they know, thinking that they actually could have been doing something better that time if it wasn't Christmas break. blah blah blah. And there would be those people who would actually forget about what the day is, like it was just another day in their life.

But, really, why do we celebrate Christmas?
I guess I would be able to answer this clearly if I'd been listening intently to the church services we had this past month; if only I'd been taking down notes-- that is, if only my notebook's not been lost. gahh. K, it's still my fault, anyway.

It's the time of the year when we celebrate the day Jesus Christ has been born.
The day when our Saviour has been born.
The day when the one person who could and did save us has been brought to existence.
The day when the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.(John 1:14)

Well, that's all I know since I'm not really a full-fledged Theologian -- or anything near that.

To avoid being a hypocrite, or to be called one, I honestly don't always think of Christmas this way. I'm actually one of those who anticipate the gift-giving part/s of this season. But, well, I just wanted to blog about this, anyway.

So, advanced merry Christmas, everyone!
May we all have a rockin' Christmas this year.. and the years to come :D

Waiting for my mommy to finish paying for all the stuffs we bought.

Our way of shopping today was different.
My mom first went by herself to buy things we need at home while my 6-year-old (I think) brother and I stayed here in the coffee shop.
Then it was our turn when she was done putting everything that's necessary in the shopping cart.
Then off went my brother and I to put whatever we please in the cart XD
Like tons of snacks, snacks and more snacks.
It was fun. Being able to just choose and throw in anything we want.
But I think my mom's going to pick out and leave some of the things we chose anyway. XD

So that was it. Now I'm back here in the coffee (and tea XD) place with my brother (who's already in his pj's) who's been running around all this time.

Sugar rush, sugar rush.

Someone left a message on my blog's chatterbox which disturbed me.

Hey Patricia, please be sensitive to your Singaporean friends who respect and love you as a friend and bother to come to read your blog by not actively voicing out how much you dislike Singapore. It really hurts and I bet you would feel damn angry and sad and disappointed if your foreign friends openly and insensitively (though subtly) said they did not really like your country too.

I'm sorry if I ever did blog something terrible about Singapore. I apologize if I ever "openly and insensitively (though subtly) said" that I did not really like Singapore. If I did that, please kindly direct me to that particular blog post because I can't seem to remember or I didn't realize that that certain post would mean that to some people. So, again, I'm sorry. :)

About my Singaporean friends. I love them all and I think they're really great and nice. I wouldn't want to hurt them and make them "feel damn angry and sad and disappointed" in any way. If I ever made them feel that way, I think they'd actually tell me directly. Well, I hope that's what they'd do so that I'd know :)

And to the kind and thoughtful person who wrote that comment and who made me know how she/he feels, thank you :) I just hoped that you actually wrote your name so that I'd know who you are :)

Again, I'm sorry. To clarify things, I don't really like like Singapore very much. BUT I don't not like Singapore too. Like most things, I'm simply okay with it. So sorry if I ever left that horrible and mean impression on other people. :)

AS MUCH AS I'M HAPPY : An Emodramatic Approach

I'm actually ecstatically euphoric that I'm going home.
I spent sleepless nights for weeks thinking about going home.
And now, the day has come.

In 6 hours, I'll be on my way to the airport.
In 8 hours, I'll be checking in.
In 10 hours, I'll be boarding the plane.
In 13 hours, the plane I'm on is going to be landing on the runway.
In 13 hours and some minutes, I'll be stepping on Philippine ground.
In 13 hours and some minutes, I'll be breathing Philippine air.
In 13 hours and some minutes.

But as much as I'm excited about this.
I'm also sure that I'm going to terribly miss my roommates.
my room. my clustermates. my cluster.
even OH and S'pore (yeah, MAYBE xD)

I'll miss my room. I really would. It's been almost a year. And it's been one helluva almost a year. All the laughters. The crazy conversations. It's been great. It's been fun. It's been lovely. I'd miss them, no doubt.

Everyone got warmer, then came the colors.
And as this year comes to an end,

it ends like how it began,

But surely, the end is much much better..

We got to spend all those memorable&precious moments together.
Yet we go home feeling that the past year was not enough,
that we were not able to cherish every moment of it,
and now, everything's changing and going right before our eyes.
And then we feel worse 'cause we know we can't put things back on how they were before.

And all we can look back on are the photos we took.
